The hotel is in the city center, very easy to go around. The room is clean, and hotel staff is very helpful, and breakfast is excellent. The hotel needs improvement in comfort, but for a small budget it is a good very choice.
Furniture needs improvement (maybe just in my room?)
Staff from reception to housekeeping were all very warm and friendly. Specially manager Jeffton is very helpful and friendly.
Room facility and breakfast for vegetarians.
The staff were all very efficient, helpful and friendly.
I understand the hotel is used by companies for visiting staff. The noise from some rooms was unbearably loud, voices and music. Doors banging at all times of night. My view is that you should decide what kind of clientelle you want, and stick to it. Unfair on families to subject them to what we suffered.
The hotel was not sutable at all. The bathroom is old, dirty and dreary. The tv has no remote and also no DSTV channels. The toilet roll was cheap. I hated the entire stay. They collect monies upfront without an option for refunds, cause they know that people will just up and leave that dump.
Breakfast not fairly ok and the chef managed a smile.
My reception was a disaster, I booked 2 rooms and only 1 room was picked up.We then ended up in different floors.Service desk officer tried my card twice and insisted that my card is being declined. Finally he got it right. I requested him to split the bill to 1 budget and 1 straight and he just decided to just use budget. The carpet is very dirty, the blankets are mmhh...I Think the hotel has a potential however hard work must be put in.
Excellent hotel with wonderful services & delicious food etc , iam impressed. i will come again.
I did not appreciate the outside appearance nor the entrance or the condition of the reception area. From this point on it was clear that this a budget hotel. Also the surroundings this not give me any warm feeling wrt car parking. The staff was friendly though
The staff is completely inept. Couldn't find a remote control for my TV. Couldn't find an electrical adapter so I could charge my computer. Would move the empty shampoo bottles and leave them in the bathroom, but not furnish replacements unless you cornered the staff and made a request. The desk clerk knew nothing about Cape Town. Had to ask fellow guests. Bedding did not fit the bed and became balled up under your body during the night. Elevator was a mess. Would take me to the 9th floor and became stuck on a regular basis. Could not open door.
The breakfast was good.
The bathroom needs to be upgraded. The lift in the morning was a long wait we had to walk down 9 floors with our luggage ,because it never came up to our floor as it was been used as a service lift to bring wharever up to the first floor
The friendliness and readiness to serve guests by the butler/porter, the front-desk staff and the cleaners
The unavailability of parking facilities at the hotel and thus having to park somewhere else at a fee. Smoking, even if it was in people's rooms, was quite disturbing. I wish there was a no-smoking floor at the hotel.
The hotel is old, the rooms are not nice (not at all like the images show)! The bathrooms are very old!
Just the location and nothing else, really. The convenience of being in the centre of town was really great.
The hotel guests and cleaning staff were noisy. The room had tattered curtains and house keeping did not leave clean cups on day 2. Parking was a huge problem as well.
The receptionists was vrey profeciency
The free internet for all guest
The price and the location
It looks like it peaked in 1980, and has barely been touched sinc.
It was spotlessly clean, safe and staff were very helpful. I would definitely stay there again.
The only thing I could fault and it is a very small fault. They do not have a hairdryer which you can plug in, except for one which goes in the bathroom where you put a razor. The power is so weak and you need to use one hand to hold it in, so it is of no use. However it certainly would not stop me staying there again.
